Key Responsibilities
* Install, align, dismantle, and move industrial conveyors and their associated components, such as rollers and guards, following detailed layout plans.
* Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to guide work procedures for various machines, including high-frequency and CNC machines.
* Operate hoisting and lifting devices, such as forklifts, small cranes, and jacks, to accurately position machinery and parts during fabrication and setup.
* Inspect conveyor belts to identify and troubleshoot irregularities, malfunctions, and mis-tracking issues.
* Perform installations, adjustments, repairs, and replacements of defective parts using techniques like vulcanization for heavy-duty belts.
* Operate machine tools, such as grinders, to prepare parts like shims and conveyor belts for maintenance or setup.
* Disassemble and reassemble parts of machinery and equipment using a variety of hand and power tools.
* Execute general belt fabrication tasks, including cutting to length, lacing, finger splicing, and slitting.
* Operate specialized mechanical tools, such as a "come along," to stretch and secure tight belts.
* Maintain a clean and organized work area and perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills Requirement
* Previous experience as an industrial machine operator is required.
* Manufacturing experience an asset
* High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. A technical or trade school certification is a plus.
* Proficiency in reading and comprehending shop orders and technical drawings written in English.
