Responsibilities
- Client Management: Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for a diverse portfolio of clients, including bank/credit card reconciliations, messy book clean-ups, and direct client communication.
- Compliance & Payroll: Process payroll, maintain records, and file HST/GST returns and payroll remittances.
- Onboarding & Training: Assist new clients with chart of accounts setup and train them on basic bookkeeping processes.
- Year-End Support: Prepare working papers and support partners/accounting staff with year-end engagements and tax reporting.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of full-cycle bookkeeping experience, ideally within a public accounting firm.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in QuickBooks Online/Desktop and MS Office. Experience with CaseWare, CCH, Sage, or Xero is a strong asset.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of Canadian accounting, tax, and payroll practices.
- Soft Skills: Excellent client service and communication skills, strong attention to detail, and a resourceful, independent problem-solving mindset.
