Our client is looking to hire a Business Intelligence Specialist for a 10-month contract with a one-time extension of up to 147 days. The role follows a hybrid model requiring 3 days onsite in Toronto and 2 days remote per week.

Responsibilities
âą Develop and implement business intelligence solutions using Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform
âą Design and build ETL pipelines for both initial and daily loads across relational and multidimensional data stores
âą Create dashboards and visualizations in Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools to deliver meaningful insights
âą Develop automation scripts and workflows using Power Automate and other low-code tools
âą Analyze source data for integrity issues such as missing values or duplicates, and implement corrective feedback processes
âą Generate scheduled and ad hoc reports using BI tools
âą Perform system and QA testing of BI solutions, including the creation of test cases
âą Support system monitoring, performance tracking, and error resolution processes
âą Engage with stakeholders to define requirements and present BI solutions and demos
âą Document interface specifications, runbooks, technical designs, and user guides
âą Contribute to AODA compliance in visual designs and data representations
Qualifications
Must Have:
âą 8â10 years of hands-on experience with:
âą Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps)
âą Developing BI dashboards and data visualizations (Power BI, Tableau)
âą SQL and NoSQL database technologies
âą Designing and executing ETL processes and scripts across varied data sources
âą QA testing, test case development, and validation of BI outputs
âą Developing automation workflows and scripts for data cleansing and transformation
âą Familiarity with AODA standards for data accessibility
âą Strong presentation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
âą Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio), SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams
âą Experience using development and collaboration tools for BI lifecycle support
Nice to Have:
âą Experience with conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling (Power Designer, Visio)
âą Knowledge of security protocols in BI (authentication, data privacy)
âą Experience designing enterprise architecture deliverables and data interface specifications
âą Understanding of business process modeling (UML, BPMN) and enterprise data governance
