Responsibilities
Bringing Designs to Life: Creating precise production drawings and engineering models based on directives from the Specials Designer and Engineering Supervisor.
Ensuring Quality & Compliance: Guaranteeing all drawings adhere to stringent ISO and Teknion standards, reflecting proper manufacturing processes.
Driving Manufacturing Efficiency: Collaborating with the Engineering Supervisor to finalize design concepts, presentation drawings, and shop drawings/work order packages for manufacturing.
Optimizing Software & Processes: Playing a key role in managing and optimizing software like Insight, Construct 15, and Imos to enhance manufacturing output, including fine-tuning Machine Configuration Files (MCF) for CNC machines.
Innovating & Improving: Assisting in the development and integration of new software (e.g., nesting software, panel saw optimizers) to continuously improve engineering processes. You'll also support software upgrades, enhancements, customization, and testing.
Collaborating for Success: Liaising with manufacturing teams to ensure drawings accurately capture production processes and working with suppliers to ensure designs align with their capabilities.
Maintaining Excellence: Contributing to quality control by reviewing drawings from other engineering team members and maintaining the CAD database by updating existing and obsoleting outdated drawings.
Upholding Standards: Meeting all requirements for the ECN process, ISO, and other critical process standards.
Qualifications
Experience that Counts:
5+ years of hands-on experience with SolidWorks and AutoCAD (2D & 3D).
5+ years of dedicated drafting/detailing experience.
Technical Acumen:
Strong understanding of SolidWorks PDM systems.
Proficient in PC operations, Excel, and word processing software.
Solid knowledge of various manufacturing processes.
Analytical & Organizational Skills:
Ability to accurately read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing BOMs.
Exceptional ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and objectives.
Collaborative Spirit:
A proven ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
Even Better If You Have:
AutoCAD Certification
SolidWorks Certification (CSWP or above)
5+ years of experience with 2020 Construct 15 (Imos)
