Responsibilities
- Act as a key advisor to the CEO, Board, and senior leadership, providing financial insights that drive decisions on planning, investment, and risk management.
- Financial Oversight: Lead all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting across the organization and its subsidiaries.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee contracts and analytics, ensuring compliance with federal requirements, and using data to support corporate strategy.
- Team Development: Lead, coach, and mentor senior finance managers and their teams to build a high-performing finance function.
- Represent the organization in negotiations with federal government departments and collaborate with a wide range of external partners, including auditors and regulators.
Qualifications
- A CPA designation is required, with an MBA or advanced degree being a strong asset.
- A minimum of 10 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including at least 5 years in an executive leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian accounting standards (GAAP/ASPE), not-for-profit financial management, and federal contracting frameworks.
- Exceptional ability to influence and collaborate with senior executives, Board members, and government stakeholders.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is a strong asset
- Active or eligible for a Government of Canada Secret Level Security Clearance.
