Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and monitor CI flexographic printing presses to meet daily production requirements.
Prepare for production runs by loading substrates, mounting plates/cylinders, setting ink levels, and adjusting press controls (speed, tension, pressure, registration).
Perform make-ready and initial press pulls to verify colour accuracy, print quality, and alignment.
Inspect finished materials throughout production to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with customer specifications.
Adjust ink flow, registration, impression, and press speed as needed to maintain quality.
Follow proper testing and inspection protocols to minimize waste.
Identify and troubleshoot print, mechanical, or alignment issues.
Perform basic routine maintenance (cleaning, lubrication, ink changes, anilox/roll cleaning).
Report major equipment concerns to maintenance/technicians.
Track and record production data, material usage, waste, and job completion details.
Verify and maintain accurate inventory of substrates, inks, plates, and other materials.
Work closely with prepress, quality control, maintenance, and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of production schedules.
Qualifications
Experience operating CI or flexographic printing presses (preferred 2–5 years).
Knowledge of flexographic inks, anilox rolls, plates, web tension, and colour matching.
Strong mechanical skills and troubleshooting ability.
Ability to stand for long periods, lift materials, and perform manual tasks.
Strong attention to detail and quality control.
Ability to read job tickets, production specs, and complete documentation.
High school diploma or equivalent required.
FIRST Operator Certification or printing technology training is an asset.
