Responsibilities
Bid Management: Lead the preparation of comprehensive cost estimates, risk assessments, and formal proposals for regional projects.
Project Feasibility: Analyze sales surveys, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine the viability and risk profile of potential jobs.
Cost Calculation: Compute detailed budgets by evaluating labor requirements, equipment needs, material costs, and third-party rentals.
Procurement & Collaboration: Secure subcontractor quotes and coordinate with Operations and Sales teams to ensure competitive and accurate pricing.
Documentation & Compliance: Oversee the assembly of bid packages, including the procurement of bid bonds and ensuring all insurance requirements are met.
Reporting & Tracking: Maintain an organized database of historical costs and track bid statuses within the project management system.
Operational Handoff: Facilitate "handoff" meetings with Project Managers to ensure a seamless transition from the bidding phase to site execution.
Qualifications
Education: A Bachelor’s Degree, Technical Diploma, or equivalent hands-on experience in the field.
Experience: At least 3 years of experience in underground wet or dry utilities.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel/Word); experience with Primavera, InEight, or JD Edwards is considered a strong asset.
Mathematical Proficiency: Ability to calculate complex figures including proportions, percentages, area, and volume (algebra/geometry).
Soft Skills: Strong logical thinking, high attention to detail, and the ability to thrive under the pressure of hard deadlines.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills for report writing and presenting information to stakeholders.
Mobility: Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel approximately 30% of the time as required.
