The purpose of this position is to provide leadership on civil engineering aspects in assisting our clients to advance their projects through the application of cost effective and technically sound solutions appropriate for the particular project development phases, from scoping study, feasibility studies, detailed design, to construction and commissioning.
This role has the responsibility to promote competitiveness within the global resources development marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. This position supports the Area Lead or Engineering Lead on assigned projects or evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques to a set of challenging assignments.

Responsibilities
As a Senior/Lead Civil Engineer you are expected to:
• Apply Cost Competitive Execution techniques to develop the cost-effective total project solution for execution of the discipline engineering work to match project requirements at various stages of project development.
• Integrate and/or manage work within Fluor’s scope with works by other service providers to complete fit for purpose project deliverables.
• Develop and review specifications, including design criteria
• Perform and check calculations, specify equipment, and solve problems of moderate or complex engineering problems
• Contribute and/or participate in the preparation of technical documentations including engineering study reports, memoranda, contracts scope of work and selection recommendations
• Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting
• Review deliverables/documentation originated within the discipline and from other disciplines for compliance with project requirements, and actively seek discrepancy resolution
• Possess strong technical knowledge and background with civil engineering subjects such as hydrology, hydraulics, drainage, roadwork and earthworks, utility infrastructures design
• Direct a civil engineering task force to undertake civil engineering work related to resource project development and construction, in one or more of the following areas:
o Plant site development earthwork
o Access road and infrastructure
o Storm drainage management
o Underground utilities
o Water supply and transportation
o Open channel and pressurized process solution and slurry transportation
o Leach pad and solution management systems
o Mine waste development and environmental protection
o Construction packages and contract development for civil works
• Manage civil task force’s deliverable budget and schedule as required to meet overall project requirements
• Develop and review material estimates and schedules, progress reports, and effort- hour estimates.
• Establish, track, and monitor material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts
Qualifications
Basic Job Requirements  Â
• Accredited four (4) year degree or accredited Bachelor of Science Degree or advance degree in Civil Engineering and minimum fifteen (15) years of progressing work-related experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
• Ability to produce concise technical report and presentation material
• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
Preferred Qualifications  Â
• Fifteen (15) to twenty (20) years plus in Engineering
• Experience working on Mining projects is an asset
• Professional registration with Engineers and Geoscientists, BC
• Relevant practical field experience
• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e- mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programs
