Responsibilities
Directional Drilling Operations:
Interpret blueprints, maps, and drawings to plan drilling methods and sequences.
Operate and maintain heavy, computer-controlled, and hydraulic pumping equipment.
Perform pre-operational checks and minor repairs on equipment.
Direct rig crew in setting up and operating rigs, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Clean, lubricate, and refuel equipment as needed.
Understand and follow Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) guidelines.
Commercial Driving:
Operate a tractor-trailer with a valid Class 1 (or A) driver's license and Air Brake (Z) Endorsement.
Load and unload goods and equipment, ensuring safe transport.
Conduct pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections on the vehicle and all attached equipment.
Maintain detailed records of cargo, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption.
Oversee the condition of the vehicle, including tires, lights, and brakes.
Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of experience in a related role.
Certifications & Licenses:
Valid Class 1/A driver's license with Air Brakes Endorsement.
CPR and First Aid Certificates.
Construction Safety Training Systems (CSTS) Certificate.
Ground Disturbance - Level II program completion.
Skills:
Proficiency in operating boring machines and Class 1 vehicles.
Strong attention to detail.
The ability to lift and handle up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
Excellent communication skills, including the use of two-way radios.
Additional Requirements:
A clean driving abstract.
Willingness to travel for extended periods, including overnight trips.
Must have a personal cell phone and steel-toed safety boots.
Summary
Working Conditions:
This is a full-time position with frequent and constant travel in and around Edmonton surrounding areas
Work is primarily outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme cold, heat, and wet/damp environments.
The work site may be dusty and noisy.
Travel expenses will be covered by the employer.
