Class 1 Driver (Oilfield & Pipe Hauling)
Location: Nisku, AB
Compensation: $35.00 – $37.00 per hour
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
The Job Summary
...
We are looking for a powerhouse Class 1 Driver who doesn't just drive, but delivers. This isn't a 9-to-5 desk job or a scheduled highway run. When the drill rigs call, we move. We specialize in hauling pipe and equipment to oil site leases, often on unpredictable schedules and demanding lease roads. If you’re a pro behind the wheel and a veteran with the chains, we want you on the team.
Advantages
What’s In It For You?
Steady Work: We keep our best drivers busy with consistent local and regional hauling.
Direct Hire: High-performing candidates will be brought on as permanent employees.
Health Coverage: Basic health benefits package included.
Stability: Long-term employment opportunities for drivers who show up and get the job done.
Competitive Pay: Solid hourly rates ($35-$37) with significant hours available.
Responsibilities
Hauling & Rigging: Safely transport pipe and oilfield equipment to various sites.
Off-Road Navigation: Master oil site lease roads in all weather conditions.
Chain Work: Throwing heavy chains frequently to ensure traction and safety on-site—chains are heavy, and we use them often.
On-Call Response: Responding to dispatch for after-hours and weekend loads—our schedule follows the rig, not the clock.
Vehicle Maintenance: Conducting thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintaining a reliable rig.
Qualifications
License: Valid Class 1 Driver’s License with a clean commercial abstract.
Experience: Proven experience in Oil Sands and Rigging. You must be comfortable with pipe loads.
Off-Road Skills: Extensive experience driving on lease roads and off-pavement; chaining up is a requirement, not an option.
Physical Stamina: Must be able to handle heavy chains and physical rigging work in varied outdoor conditions.
Certifications: Valid TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods) is required.
Mindset: A "no-whiners" attitude. We need someone reliable, punctual, and ready to work when the work is there.
Summary
If you’re the type of driver who knows that "chained up" is a way of life and you’re ready to tackle the oil patch head-on, we want to hear from you.
