Responsibilities
- Execute the full cycle of job planning for components, including fixturing design and the careful selection of appropriate materials and cutting tools.
- Program, set up, and operate high-tech equipment, including Takumi CNC machining centers and Agie Charmilles Wire EDM machinery, maintaining tight tolerances.
- Maintain accurate project records and ensure all labour and material usage is correctly reported on job tickets daily.
- Conduct ongoing troubleshooting and preventive maintenance, including lubrication and general upkeep, to ensure safe and efficient machine operation.
- Study and accurately interpret engineering drawings, both digital and physical prints, to determine precise machining requirements.
- Function as an expert CNC & Wire EDM Programmer / Operator, diagnosing and correcting errors within machine programs promptly to sustain production.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated professional history of 5+ years as a CNC & Wire EDM Programmer / Operator or a similar precision machining role.
- Must be proficient in MasterCam CAD/CAM software for programming complex components.
- In-depth capability to read and work from detailed blueprints and standard engineering drawings.
- Strong working knowledge of setting up mills, calculating correct speed and feed rates, and experience working with various cutting tool steels.
- Excellent proficiency with standard measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges, for verifying final part dimensions.
- Familiarity with the operation and setup of Charmilles wire EDM machines and working with tight tolerances is required for this CNC & WIRE EDM Programmer / Operator role.
