Responsibilities
•Set up, adjust, and operate CNC machines to ensure precise fabrication and machining of stainless steel components.
•Read and interpret technical blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machine setup and production sequences.
•Input G-code commands or adjust control settings to regulate coordinates, speeds, and feed rates based on the material properties of stainless steel.
•Properly load raw materials onto the machine bed using appropriate material handling equipment, ensuring all safety protocols are strictly followed.
•Monitor the CNC operation continuously to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust controls as necessary.
•Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify that finished workpieces conform to specifications.
•Assess processed pieces for quality assurance, checking for defects, burrs, or irregularities before final delivery.
•Check and complete all necessary production paperwork to ensure inventory accuracy and order tracking within the Manufacturing & logistics system.
•Properly package and secure all finished orders, which may include making skids, boxes, strapping, and wrapping items accordingly.
•Maintain a clean and organized workspace, performing basic routine maintenance on CNC machinery to prevent downtime.
•Operate industrial material handling equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, and side-loaders to move heavy stainless steel stock.
•Possess a strong safety awareness by wearing all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times and adhering to provincial safety standards.
Qualifications
•Valid forklift license or a minimum of 6 months of documented forklift experience, preferably handling heavy metal products.
•At least 12 months of proven experience as a CNC Operator or Machinist is mandatory.
•Experience working with stainless steel or other heavy metals is highly preferred for this role.
•Physical capability to perform frequent bending, pushing, and lifting of up to 50 lbs.
•Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the 8-hour shift in an industrial setting.
•Strong commitment to punctuality and reliability for the Sunday-Thursday afternoon shift.
•Willingness to assist other plant personnel and work as a collaborative team player in the Manufacturing & logistics department.
