Responsibilities
Prioritize Safety: Maintain a clean, organized workspace and strictly adhere to company QHSE standards and protocols.
Blueprint Analysis: Interpret technical blueprints, engineering plans, specifications, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
CNC Programming: Program mills and lathes by inputting precise instructions, including reference points, offsets, tool registers, and conditional switches.
Technical Math: Apply basic math, geometry, and trigonometry to calculate precise machining requirements.
Machine Setup: Configure mills and lathes by installing and adjusting chucks (3-jaw and 4-jaw), tools, collets, attachments, and stock pushers.
Material Handling: Load stock into machines safely, using overhead cranes and lifting devices when required.
Quality Control: Validate setups by measuring first-run parts and sample workpieces, and deburr finished pieces as needed.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting: Observe machine operations to detect malfunctions and troubleshoot process errors in real time.
Documentation: Accurately complete daily production sheets, quality forms, and maintenance logs.
Equipment Care & Growth: Assist with routine preventative maintenance and actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
Experience: 3+ years of machining experience, including 2–3 years specifically focused on CNC mill and/or lathe setup.
Technical Skills: Proficient with Fanuc operational systems and Okuma G-Code. Strong expertise in machine tooling is required.
Blueprint & Layout Proficiency: Ability to accurately interpret blueprints, sketches, work orders, and verbal directions.
Precision Measurement: Expert knowledge of inspection tools, including calipers, ID/OD micrometers, height gauges, and thread wires/gauges.
Problem-Solving & Quality: Proven ability to troubleshoot machining issues, detect abnormal running conditions, and uphold strict quality standards.
Physical Demands: Able to stand for long periods and safely lift/move materials weighing 30–50 lbs.
Teamwork & Safety: Excellent communication skills, a collaborative team mindset, and ownership of steel-toed safety boots.
Preferred Assets: A CNC certificate, CNC programming experience, and familiarity with ISO or API standards are highly desirable.
