Your Impact (Responsibilities)
Own the Line: Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes independently to meet and exceed daily production targets.
Troubleshoot & Optimize: Diagnose machine irregularities and fine-tune CNC programs on the fly to maintain a seamless operational flow.

Who You Are (Requirements)
Experienced Maker: Bring a proven track record of setting up and running CNC mills or lathes in a fast-paced machine shop environment.
Blueprint Fluent: Possess the ability to effortlessly read and decipher complex technical drawings and work orders.
Detail-Oriented: Demonstrate mastery in using precision measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
Code-Literate: Hold a solid foundational understanding of G-code to interpret and adjust machine programs safely.
Reliable & Ready: You operate with urgency, thrive with minimal supervision, possess reliable personal transportation to get to work, and are ready to start immediately.

Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance: Prioritize workplace safety by strictly adhering to company QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) policies and maintaining an organized workstation.
Technical Planning: Blueprint read and interpret engineering plans, work orders, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) to map out machining processes.
CNC Programming & Setup: Program and configure mills and lathes. Set zero/reference points, calculate offsets, and install essential tooling, chucks (3-jaw/4-jaw), and fixtures.
Mathematical Precision: Apply geometry and trigonometry to calculate exact machining paths and requirements.
Operation & Material Handling: Safely load raw materials using overhead cranes or manual lifting, monitor machine cycles, and troubleshoot any runtime malfunctions.
Quality Control: Inspect first-run and sample parts to verify tolerances, deburr finished components, and accurately document daily production and quality logs.
Maintenance & Growth: Perform routine preventative maintenance on equipment and actively participate in continuous improvement projects.
Qualifications
Experience: At least 3 years of experience as a Machinist, including 2–3 years specifically focused on CNC mill and/or lathe setup.
Technical Skills: Proficient with Fanuc operational systems and Okuma G-Code; strong, practical knowledge of machine tooling.
Blueprints & Math: Proven ability to interpret blueprints, work orders, sketches, and verbal directions with precision.
Inspection Tools: Expertise using precision measuring instruments (calipers, ID/OD micrometers, height gauges, thread wires/gauges).
Problem-Solving: Skilled at troubleshooting machine operations, detecting defects, and maintaining rigorous quality standards.
Physical Roles: Fit to stand for extended shifts and comfortably lift/move materials ranging from 30 to 50 lbs.
Soft Skills: Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Assets: A CNC Certificate, CNC programming experience, or familiarity with ISO/API standards is highly preferred.
Requirement: Must possess and wear CSA-approved steel-toed safety boots.
