In this position, you will be responsible for the setup and operation of CNC laser cutting machines. The CNC Laser Operator must be comfortable reading blueprints and performing quality inspections to maintain the high standards our client is known for. Responsibilities
• Operate and maintain CNC laser cutting machines to produce precision parts.
• Perform machine setups, including lens cleaning, nozzle changes, and beam alignments.
• Load and unload raw materials (metal sheets) onto the laser bed using appropriate lifting equipment.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to determine machine programming requirements.
• Monitor the cutting process to ensure optimal performance and adjust parameters as necessary.
• Conduct regular quality checks using calipers, micrometers, and gauges to ensure parts meet tolerances.
• Perform routine daily maintenance on equipment to minimize downtime in the manufacturing & logistics facility.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace in accordance with 5S and safety standards.
• Document production logs and report any mechanical discrepancies to the supervisor.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in CNC Laser Operator setup and operation.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in machining is an asset.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
• Reliable transportation to the job site in Brantford.
• Commitment to workplace safety and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Flexibility to work overtime if required by production demands in manufacturing & logistics.
• Proven experience as a CNC Laser Operator or in a similar CNC machining role.
• Ability to read and interpret complex industrial blueprints and technical schematics.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, protractors, tape measures).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Basic computer literacy for machine interface and data entry.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with the manufacturing & logistics team.
