Responsibilities
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and fabrication details to determine precise product specifications.
• Set up, calibrate, and safely operate industrial saws, drill presses, and rolling machines according to standard operating procedures.
• Perform crucial first-piece setups, test runs, and structural adjustments before initiating full-scale production runs.
• Monitor machine performance during operation, making real-time adjustments to maintain strict quality tolerances.
• Conduct routine preventive maintenance on machinery, jigs, and tools within the manufacturing & logistics facility.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance and engineering teams to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and resolve production variances.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace adhering to all occupational health and safety guidelines.
Qualifications
• Minimum of 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience as a Set Up Technician or in a highly similar manufacturing setup role.
• Demonstrated, practical experience setting up and operating industrial saws, drill presses, and material rollers.
• Solid background in fixture design, jig modification, and interpreting blueprint drawings.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required by the role, including lifting materials and standing for extended production shifts.
• High school diploma or equivalent; a technical certificate or apprenticeship in machining, manufacturing, or fabrication is highly preferred.
• Full flexibility and commitment to working full-time hours on-site at the Grimsby, Ontario facility.
