This role supports production work that spans mechanical, electrical, and software‑related tasks within a complex rail‑industry environment. The work varies day‑to‑day and requires someone who is highly skilled, adaptable, and able to contribute immediately with minimal training.
This is a contract position with a strong possibility of extension or a permanent position based on your performance and business needs.
Job Title: Commissioning Technician
Role Type: Contract
Location: On-site Technical Facility
Compensation: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour (Based on experience)
Openings: 4 Positions Available

Responsibilities
-Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic system failures.
-Read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and circuit
diagrams.
-Use laptops and subsystem software to analyze and correct system issues.
-Implement Field Modifications (FMIs) and record all work performed.
-Communicate technical details and recommendations to the site lead and team.
-Work safely while using shop tools, equipment, and standard industry procedures.
-Perform hands-on repairs and adjustments as needed.
-Perform assembly installations work on locomotives and coaches
Qualifications
-Strong electrical troubleshooting capability.
-Ability to read, understand, and apply electrical schematics without training.
-Mechanical and electrical hands-on experience using a wide range of tools (wrenches, multimeters, specialty tools, etc.).
-Versatility and willingness to take on varying tasks depending on project needs.
-Ability to operate independently with little ramp‑up time.
-Software/system logic background is a plus.
-Rail industry experience is an asset, but not required.
