They are looking for a Construction Pipe Fitter in Toronto that can perform work related to boiler rooms, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, drainage systems and valves. This is a Union Position. Responsibilities
· Help in the construction of HVAC systems by installing pipes.
· Measure, layout, cut, thread, and weld pipe for mechanical installations.
· Weld, braze, solder, and thread joints to join Pipes and Fabricate sections of the piping system.
· Use testing equipment to check systems for leaks.
· Install supports, valves, piping, and control systems.
· Install pipes, gutters, drainage systems, sinks, toilets, and heating and cooling systems.
· Fix leaks, tears, blockages, corrosion, weather damage, and other damage to water and HVAC systems.
· Perform inspections and trouble shooting.
Qualifications
· High School Diploma or GED or equivalent
· Certificate of Qualification (Ontario 307A Steamfitter and/or Plumber 306A) as recognized by the Ontario College of Trades is required.
· Minimum 10 years or more of related experience in installation, maintenance and repairs of pipes, drains and welding etc.
· Completion of Ozone Depletion Prevention (ODP) certificate
· Familiarity with HVAC systems installation
· Backflow Certification is an asset
The Pipefitter will be required to:
· Work both inside and outside of buildings
· Work in confined spaces and potentially noisy conditions
· Climb stairs, ladders and scaffolds
· Bend, stoop, push, pull, reach and kneel
· Lift up to 50 pounds
· Stand or walk for long periods of time
· Wear and always utilize required safety equipment as required by policy and or legislation
