Responsibilities
Content Strategy and Production
Manage all aspects of the editorial process, including supporting requirements for localization/French translation.
Write, edit, and proofread original and supplied copy, ensuring all content is accurate, on brand, and meets business objectives.
Ensure content meets all established style, brand voice/tone, and quality standards; copy must be clear, concise, conversational, and follow the principles of plain language.
Proactively manage content through the editorial workflow, collecting required legal and regulatory signoffs, and performing final authoring within the Content Management System (CMS).
Maintain version control for content and contribute to the review and updating of organizational style guides and editorial standards.
UX, Research, and Compliance
Support initial project phases by conducting essential content strategy tasks and UX research, including competitive content audits, content inventories, and drafting preliminary wireframe copy.
Apply SEO best practices to increase site visibility, engagement, and click-through rates.
Ensure full compliance with WCAG 2.0 Accessibility Standards and principles of inclusive writing.
Conduct content walkthroughs and act as the subject matter expert when collaborating with project teams and external stakeholders (e.g., business, marketing, legal).
Knowledge and Leadership
Remain current on emerging web technologies, digital platforms, mobile applications, and regulatory changes impacting content.
Foster collaborative relationships across teams, proactively advocating for good content and sound user experiences.
Help onboard and train others on editorial workflow, content creation standards, and CMS authoring guidelines.
Qualifications
Must-Have Requirements
Experience: 10+ years of related professional experience in a content editor, content design, UX writing, or editorial environment.
Editorial Standards: Excellent working knowledge of CP Style (or a major international style guide such as AP or Chicago) for professional communication.
Digital Expertise: Extensive experience writing, editing, and designing content specifically for web and digital properties.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Marketing, Journalism, or Technical Writing, or equivalent practical work experience.
Nice-to-Have Skills
Previous experience in the financial services sector.
Familiarity with a major enterprise Content Management System (CMS), such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
Working knowledge of SEO, user experience principles, and content strategy methodologies.
