We are on the hunt for a Controller who wants to do more than just "crunch numbers." Reporting to the CEO, you’ll lead our client’s accounting department by balancing essential daily operations with the strategic vision required for long-term success.
What you bring:
- Drive: You’re a motivated leader who steps up to fill gaps with a positive, "can-do" spirit.
...
- Precision: Your analytical skills are top-tier; you notice the small details that others might miss.
- Emotional Intelligence: You lead with diplomacy, ensuring smooth interactions with both clients and colleagues.
- Flexibility: You enjoy the energy of a fast-paced office and can shift gears with ease.
If you’re a CPA who enjoys mentoring others and creating the financial structure a growing company needs, let’s talk!
Advantages
- A competitive package tailored to your experience.
- Take the lead in revamping workflows and setting new standards for operational excellence.
- Use your proactive mindset and positive energy to shape the department’s future.
- Be more than a manager—be a change agent who directly impacts the company’s growth.
Responsibilities
The Role at a Glance:
- You’ll work side-by-side with the CEO on long-term planning, cash flow management, and fund allocation to keep the company on a growth trajectory.
- You will oversee the full accounting cycle—from treasury and audits to fixed assets and insurance—ensuring everything runs like a well-oiled machine.
- It’s more than just spreadsheets. You’ll translate complex data into monthly/quarterly reports and KPIs that help senior management make informed decisions.
- You’ll stay ahead of tax laws, coordinate with external auditors, and ensure all government filings (and payroll) are handled with total accuracy.
- You’ll manage and mentor the accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- CPA designation and a university degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum 5 years of management experience under your belt and aren't afraid to lead from the front.
- You are fully bilingual in French and English (professional-level written and spoken).
- You are a "power user" of ERP systems and Excel, and you know how to use technology to work smarter, not harder.
- Have a rock-solid grasp of tax laws and canadian GAAP.
