Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations including GL maintenance, accounts receivable/payable, and month/quarter/year-end reporting
- Manage and mentor a professional accounting team, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all deliverables
- Develop and maintain robust internal controls and corporate policies to ensure financial integrity and prevent malpractice
- Direct the treasury functions, including cash and asset management and currency exchange hedging
- Coordinate the annual budget and periodic forecasting activities to support strategic business decisions
- Lead the preparation for internal and external audits and ensure compliance with all tax and regulatory requirements
- Drive continuous improvement by mapping processes and implementing automated templates within the ERP environment
Qualifications
- Must hold one of the following designations in good standing: CPA or CPA (CA, CGA or CMA legacy designations)
- 7 to 10 years of progressive accounting experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience at a managerial level
- Proficiency with ERP systems; knowledge of Sage X3 or system implementations is a strong asset
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and Canadian/U.S. tax compliance
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and the ability to interpret complex data to drive business insights
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence without direct authority across various departments
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
