Responsibilities
- Oversee daily accounting operations (AR, AP, general accounting), lead month-end close, and ensure accuracy of financial records and timely reporting.
- Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements, variance reports, and adjusting journal entries; compile consolidated financial results for leadership.
- Manage treasury operations, administer credit card programs, ensure compliance with evolving regulations, and lead annual external audits.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to support financial operations and maintain strong working relationships.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of five, support strategic initiatives, and contribute to continuous improvement through special projects and mentoring.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of progressive experience in full-cycle accounting
- At least two years of experience leading accounting teams of four or more
- Deep expertise in ASPE with practical application, and solid working knowledge of ASNPO
- Proficient in MS Dynamics GP, with additional familiarity in QuickBooks considered an asset
- Holds a recognized accounting designation (e.g., Canadian CPA, ACA, CA) and eligible for Secret Security Clearance
