Responsibilities
- Prepare and present accurate financial statements — balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
- Build, manage, and track budgets aligned with company goals. Use forecasting tools to guide strategic planning.
- Monitor materials, labor, and overhead costs to maximize efficiency and profitability.
- Ensure the business stays cash-positive and investment-ready.
- Identify trends, variances, and opportunities through in-depth financial review and analytics.
- Keep the company in good standing with financial regulations and accounting standards across jurisdictions.
- Lead the charge during internal and external audits with complete documentation and responsiveness.
- Supervise accounts payable and receivable to keep transactions flowing smoothly.
- Guide and grow a team of finance professionals with a focus on mentorship and performance.
Qualifications
- You bring 5–10 years of experience that blends public accounting with in-house industry knowledge, ideally in construction or a similar field.
- A Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or economics, along with a CPA or another recognized designation (CFA, CFP, CIM).
- You've led accounting teams for at least 5 years, with a proven track record of developing talent and driving results
- Bilingual in French and English — a must for navigating the business landscape in both Ontario and Quebec.
- You have deep knowledge of GAAP and understand federal/provincial compliance for both Ontario and Quebec.
