Reporting to the Manager, Communications, the Communications Associate will be responsible for developing, executing, and producing content for various strategic business initiatives. You will act as the communications lead on projects, providing counsel, drafting diverse materials (from sales tools to press releases), and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders across sales, product, legal, and compliance. Success in this role is measured by hitting deadlines, quality of writing (grammar, typos), and the ability to take on complex work.

Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans and act as the communications lead with project teams, providing strategic counsel and advising on communication strategy status.
Content Production: Draft and edit a variety of content, including sales tools, brochures, product overviews, special reports, press releases, and website copy for various business initiatives (e.g., sales campaigns, product launches).
Content Standards: Contribute to the development of standards for content, including look and feel, tone, focus, audience, and relevance.
Knowledge & Maintenance: Maintain a working knowledge of investment products (mutual funds, ETFs) and industry trends, including oversight of regular communication vehicles such as newsletters.
Stakeholder Management: Build and foster strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including sales teams, product, creative, legal, and compliance.
Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of overall experience (flexible).
Industry Knowledge: 2+ years of experience in the mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, or investment industry.
Writing & Communication: Exceptional writing, editing, proofing, and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize details quickly and produce professional, audience-tailored messages.
Education: A mix of work experience and a post-secondary/university degree in a related discipline (English, Journalism, Public Relations).
Technical Skills: Solid knowledge of MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat Pro, with exposure to social media.
Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, a self-starter with the ability to take on complex initiatives, manage multiple timelines, and be flexible to quickly adapt to changing requirements.
