This is a 12-month contract based in Bolton, ON. This role requires an onsite presence.
As a Corporate Affairs Specialist, you will be a key driver of communication for the segment and its associate population. Your focus for the first 90 days will be getting up to speed on annual programs and taking day-to-day ownership of drafting communications, sending out newsletters, and managing announcements. You will work in a "small but mighty" team environment that values a positive attitude and the ability to move with pace.

Responsibilities
• Internal Communications: Drive internal communication strategies to connect with the associate population and foster a sense of pride across the organization.
• Content Creation: Draft and distribute regular newsletters and internal announcements.
• Brand PR: Support and amplify Brand PR campaigns externally to increase reach and engagement.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Marketing teams and PR agencies to ensure cohesive messaging.
• Program Management: Take ownership of day-to-day communication tasks and assist in the execution of yearly communication programs.
• Performance Tracking: Monitor the reach of Brand PR programs and the relevancy of content to ensure effective connection with the audience.
Qualifications
Must-Have Skills and Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field.
• Experience: 1–3 years of experience in internal and external communications.
• Internal Comms Expertise: Proven experience managing internal communications for a company (required).
• Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to maintain high levels of confidentiality and professionalism.
• Technical Savvy: Experience with newsletter platforms (e.g., Poppulo) and digital savviness.
• Soft Skills: Must be a self-starter, fast learner, and comfortable moving at a fast pace.
Nice-to-Have Skills and Qualifications:
• Agency Background: Experience working within a public relations agency.
• Design Skills: Proficiency in Adobe design tools or video development skills.
• Media Trends: Staying current with the latest trends in media relations.
