Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary subject matter expert for the company's full portfolio of Datacomm products, including structured cabling, fiber optics, copper connectivity, racks, enclosures, and active networking devices.
• Provide detailed product selection support, solution design recommendations, and technical specifications to customers, contractors, and internal teams.
• Collaborate closely with Outside Sales Representatives in customer meetings, offering technical insights and presenting tailored Datacomm solutions to meet client needs.
• Deliver engaging and informative technical product training sessions for branch staff, sales representatives, and external customers to enhance product knowledge across the board.
• Assist with the creation of project quotations, bills of materials, and recommend suitable product substitutions to ensure project requirements are met efficiently.
• Engage with consultants, engineers, and contractors to ensure the company's products are specified in new construction and retrofit projects.
• Work directly with vendors and suppliers to negotiate pricing, align on product strategies, discuss promotions, and stay informed about new technology introductions.
• Support branch locations in achieving their Datacomm sales targets by identifying growth opportunities and ensuring staff are well-equipped with the necessary product knowledge.
• Provide regular sales reports and business reviews to the Business Unit Manager, taking responsibility for achieving established KPIs and targets.

• Deep technical knowledge of copper & fiber cabling systems, connectors, patch panels, termination hardware, and other essential Datacomm products.
• Strong understanding of racks, cabinets, cable management, power (UPS, PDUs), and cooling solutions for communication systems.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex technical information into practical, understandable solutions.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively within a sales team environment, providing support and expertise to drive collective success.
• Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, particularly in handling quotes, technical specifications, and product selection.
• A self-starting and proactive attitude, coupled with a genuine passion for technology and a commitment to outstanding customer engagement.

• Familiarity with BICSI practices and key industry standards (e.g., TIA/EIA, ISO/IEC).
• A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel regularly within British Columbia to meet with clients and support various branches.
• Successful completion of a criminal record check.
