Responsibilities
As a Digital Content Writer (Content Designer), your primary responsibilities will include:
Research and Strategy Support
Support project discovery by conducting content strategy tasks and UX research (e.g., competitive research, content inventories, drafting usability questions, and wireframe copy).
Content Creation and Editorial Management
Manage all facets of the editorial process throughout a project’s lifecycle, including supporting French translation.
Write, edit, and proofread original and supplied copy, ensuring accuracy, brand compliance, and alignment with business objectives.
Ensure all content meets style, voice/tone, quality standards, accessibility requirements, and the principles of plain language.
Proactively move pages through the editorial workflow, which involves addressing questions and feedback, collecting necessary signoffs, and authoring content in the Content Management System (CMS).
Conduct content walkthroughs with project teams and external stakeholders (e.g., business, marketing, legal, and regulatory groups).
Content Authoring and Technical Skills
Build pages in our CMS (e.g., Adobe Experience Manager - AEM or similar) with accuracy and independence.
Troubleshoot and address content defects.
Provide content/authoring support during program launches, which may occasionally require support outside of regular business hours.
Subject Matter Expertise and Relationships
Remain current on emerging web technologies, accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.0), mobile applications, and SEO.
Foster collaborative relationships with all stakeholders, constantly advocating for good content design.
Collaborate with UX and visual design teams to deliver content that meets both user needs and business objectives.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements (Must-Haves)
Experience: 3-5 years of related experience in a content editor, content design, UX writing, or digital editorial environment.
Style Expertise: Excellent working knowledge of CP Style.
Digital Writing: Proven experience writing for web and/or digital properties.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or a related field (e.g., English, Communications, Marketing, Technical Writing) or equivalent work experience.
Highly Desired Skills and Experience (Nice-to-Haves)
CMS Familiarity: Experience with AEM or a similar Content Management System.
Digital Methodologies: Familiarity with enterprise project methodologies and publishing/workflow tools (e.g., Jira/Confluence).
Cross-Functional Experience: Previous experience working with cross-disciplinary teams (UX Designers, Creative Designers, Product Design Leads).
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with the principles of content strategy, inclusive writing, WCAG 2.0 Accessibility Standards, plain language principles, SEO, and user experience.
Soft Skills
Exceptional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present content effectively to stakeholders.
