*Please note this position requires frequent travel (around 50%) to various plant in Ontario and to our plant in Lancaster (USA)
As a member of Cascades' Operational Efficiency team, the Director of Continuous Improvement will have the mandate to support a group of plants in their management and development of the maturity of Cascades' Lean management model. They will also provide support in identifying opportunities for improvement, solving complex problems and managing projects. In addition, the Improvement Director will work closely with the team's other Continuous Improvement Directors to ensure the harmonized development of all Cascades plants and to align a common vision.
- Support the units under your responsibility in their progress with the maturity of Cascades' LEAN Production System.
- Coach, develop and supervise the site's employees and managers in continuous improvement: loss analysis, problem solving and more generally on Cascades' LEAN program
- Promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, ensuring alignment with overall business goals as well as detailed local one
- Define and improve standard operating practices, manufacturing procedures, and work instructions
- Participate in the achievement of the action plan of the units under his/her responsibility by providing support in terms of operational effectiveness.
- Coordinate and support implementation efforts and the monitoring of standard operating practices, manufacturing procedures and work instructions related to the achievement of the group's objectives.
- Evaluate and propose recommendations and solutions to improve productivity and reduce costs.
- Develop performance indicators, support their implementation and ensure their follow-up.
- Analyze data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement
- Support the sustainability of the lean model by contributing to the transfer of knowledge and best practices within the group as well as in the various production units (network development, maturity audits).
- Contribute to the resolution of problems in the units by coordinating and facilitating working sessions in collaboration with the various stakeholders.

You too, put forward your strengths:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or operations management (or similar engineering field);
- Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in the field of continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment
- Certified Lean Green or Black Belt or equivalent experience
- Demonstrate strong communication, engagement and facilitation skills
- Experience in an advisory and impact role, rigorous and action-oriented
- Strong planning and organizational skills, autonomy and sense of responsibility
- The position requires frequent travel to various plants in Ontario and Lancaster (USA)
- Proficiency in English and French is an asset
