About the Opportunity We are partnering with a large global organization to find a highly strategic Director of Finance to lead the financial performance, governance, and decision support for two major business segments
This organization boasts a highly transparent, open-door culture where the executive team is active, visible, and values clear communication around deadlines. This is a true business-partnering role where you will act as the senior finance authority for these segments. You will work directly with the Operations team to build KPIs, resolve customer issues, and drive process improvements.
While this is a senior leadership position, the ideal candidate is someone who is never "above the work" and is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to balance strategic direction with execution discipline

Responsibilities
- Commercial Partnership: Act as a trusted business partner to Segment Leaders to drive profitable growth, providing actionable insights on pricing discipline, customer mix, and cost-to-serve optimization
- Financial Reporting & Governance: Oversee timely, accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting in compliance with IFRS and internal control standards
- Operational Finance: Partner deeply with Operations to analyze productivity, logistics costs, freight, labour, and overhead absorption
- Capital & Working Capital Management: Evaluate capital expenditures and strategic projects, while ensuring strong balance sheet management and working capital optimization (inventory, AR, AP)
- Planning & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting, monthly forecasting, and long-range planning processes for your segments
- Systems Innovation: Champion continuous improvement in finance processes and partner with IT teams on ERP, reporting tools, and automation initiatives
Qualifications
- Education & Credentials: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration and an active CPA designation are mandatory
- Experience Level: 12+ years of progressive finance experience with 5–7 years in a senior leadership capacity (Director, Senior Controller, or equivalent)
- Candidates must have a track record demonstrating high levels of ownership
- Industry & Environment: Background in a large, global, or multinational organization is required
- Distribution industry experience is a nice-to-have, but candidates from a variety of industry backgrounds are welcome
- Technical Skills: Mandatory Canadian reporting experience and a deep understanding of IFRS
- Experience with large ERP platforms (AS400, Hyperion) is a strong asset
