As a Dispatcher, you'll be at the heart of the action, responsible for coordinating drivers, routes, and schedules to ensure timely and efficient deliveries. You'll handle incoming requests, communicate with drivers, and troubleshoot any issues that arise on the road. Responsibilities
As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for coordinating local freight traffic. Your main duties will include:
• Planning and Execution: Establishing, modifying, and executing a nightly dispatch plan.
• Communication: Maintaining contact with drivers via phone and ELD to provide clear load instructions.
• Problem-Solving: Managing breakdown situations and coordinating with maintenance to ensure timely freight delivery.
• Optimization: Monitoring all outbound cut-off times and enlisting third-party carriers for overflow loads in a cost-effective manner.
• Administration: Updating trip sheets and other records to ensure accuracy, monitoring driver performance, and tracking driver schedules.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with strong organizational and planning skills, as well as the ability to multitask effectively. The ideal candidate will have:
• Experience: Previous dispatch experience in the logistics and transportation industry is a significant asset.
• Knowledge: Familiarity with operations related to Long Combination Vehicles (LCV).
• Skills: A customer service mindset, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
