Responsibilities
Estimating
◾Review construction documents (drawings, specifications) to develop accurate electrical cost estimates for new construction and retrofit projects.
◾Prepare detailed material and labour take-offs using estimating software or manual methods.
◾Obtain, and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for both accuracy and competitiveness.
◾Develop comprehensive bid packages, proposals, and change order pricing.
◾Maintain and update cost data, including unit pricing, labour rates, and cost databases.
◾Support project management with budget tracking and project hand-offs, including attending site visits to verify scope and conditions.
Service Coordination
◾Manage the process of receiving, prioritizing, and scheduling all incoming service requests from clients.
◾Efficiently coordinate the dispatch of service technicians, communicating work orders clearly.
◾Track service call progress to ensure timely completion, maintaining consistent client communication.
◾Prepare and issue service quotes and invoices in collaboration with the accounting department.
◾Support procurement and logistics to ensure parts and materials are available for service work.
Qualifications
◾Proven technical knowledge and experience in electrical systems.
◾Demonstrable experience in preparing detailed electrical cost estimates advantageous
◾Excellent organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
◾Familiarity with maintaining essential compliance documentation, such as insurance certificates and safety requirements an asset
◾Experience with estimating software or systems is beneficial
◾Well versed in reading drawings
