What you'll doAs a Recycling Sorter, you'll be at the heart of operations, ensuring recyclable materials are processed safely and efficiently. Your day-to-day includes: 

• Unload mega bags from trucks using pallet jacks
• Scan incoming bags into the electronic tracking system
• Report missing tags, discrepancies, or operational concerns to the supervisor
• Tip and process bags according to production standards
• Enter weights into electronic systems and report any errors or disputes
• Organize and wrap supplies
• Process bag-in-box materials
• Assist in other operational areas as required
• Maintain high safety standards while working in designated production zones
• Follow all company and WorkSafeBC policies and procedures

Your strengths as a Recycling SorterYou are a natural fit for this role if you have:

• A strong commitment to workplace safety
• Experience working in a production, warehouse, manufacturing, or recycling environment is an asset
• Comfort using handheld scanners and basic computer systems
• The ability to work independently and stay motivated throughout the shift
• The ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Knowledge of safe lifting and material handling practices
• The ability to work in dusty, hot, or cold plant conditions
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment with varying noise and temperature levels
