Our client is looking for an Enterprise Search Engineer for a 6-month+6-month contract based in Toronto. This hybrid role involves leading the enhancement of enterprise search platforms and optimizing search functionality across WordPress and SPA-driven web properties.

âą Manage and fine-tune SearchBlox collections, metadata, structured data (JSON-LD), and use analytics tools to drive performance
âą Apply modern SEO best practices, including keyword strategy, technical SEO, and structured schema markup
âą Resolve crawl issues, improve indexing, and implement JavaScript SEO strategies for dynamic web applications
âą Automate search and SEO diagnostics using scripts (e.g., Python, Bash, JavaScript) and API interactions
âą Analyze and monitor KPIs using tools like Google Search Console, GA4, SEMrush, and Ahrefs
âą Act as a search and SEO subject-matter expert in cross-functional teams, translating strategy into technical solutions
Qualifications
âą 5+ years of hands-on experience with SearchBlox or similar platforms (Elasticsearch, Apache Solr)
âą In-depth understanding of WordPress SEO, plugin configuration (e.g., Yoast, RankMath), and SPA optimization
âą Strong experience in technical SEO including structured data, canonicalization, crawl budgets, and mobile SEO
âą Proficient in scripting and automation for large-scale search and indexing tasks
âą Familiar with modern analytics and SEO tools (e.g., Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, SEMrush)
âą Strong communication skills to collaborate across dev, content, and ops teams
âą Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
