As the Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist, you will lead the evolution and maintenance of our ISO 14001 and Health and Safety Management Systems. This position is vital for reducing workplace incidents and ensuring our operations remain fully compliant with all provincial and federal safety legislation.
Location & Schedule: This position is strictly on-site 5 days a week in Woodstock. The standard shift is Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with the potential to transition to a Monday–Thursday schedule (6:00 AM – 4:30 PM) based on production needs.

Core Responsibilities
The Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist will handle a diverse range of tasks, including:
Policy & Compliance: Drafting and auditing annual safety policies to align with OHSA, WSIB, and ISO 14001 standards.
Leadership: Head the Health & Safety Committee and provide expert guidance to management and team members regarding safety interpretations.
Incident Management: Overseeing all accident investigations, identifying root causes, and implementing robust preventative measures.
Training & Presence: Maintaining a daily presence on the shop floor to conduct safety orientations, awareness meetings, and ergonomic assessments.
Environmental Oversight: Managing occupational hygiene testing, hazardous material protocols, and ISO 14001 documentation.
Return-to-Work: Collaborating with HR to manage modified work programs, light duties, and physical demands analysis for recovering team members.

To be successful as our Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist, candidates must meet the following criteria:
Experience: 2 to 3 years of direct experience in Health and Safety.
Environmental Knowledge: Previous experience with ISO 14001 is considered a strong asset.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a proven ability to meet strict deadlines.
Soft Skills: Exceptional presentation, training, and organizational skills, with the ability to implement programs across a large plant.
Work Requirements: Ability to be on-site 5 days a week in Woodstock and be "on-call" for emergencies as needed.
Education & Certifications:
Post-Secondary Diploma, Degree, or Certificate in Health & Safety.
CRST or CRSP designation is required.
JHSC Certification Training or ISO Auditor certification is an asset.

The Environmental, Health and Safety Specialist operates in a dynamic manufacturing environment involving both office and factory settings.
Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods on the shop floor.
Must be comfortable working near moving mechanical parts and vehicles.
Requires the ability to climb ladders, bend, twist, and occasionally lift between 5–20 kg.
