Responsibilities
The Role: Where Technical Math Meets Business Growth
This is a unique position blending technical estimating with proactive sales development. You will work directly with the Manager to drive operations across Western Canada.
1. Estimating & Tenders (The Technical)
• Blueprint Analysis: Accurately read and interpret technical construction drawings and project specifications.
• Bidding: Scour bid sites for new tenders and prepare precise costings for guardrail and safety systems.
• Technical Support: Organize shop drawings and document packages for active projects.
2. Sales & Business Development (The Growth)
• Lead Generation: Actively research new infrastructure projects and identify potential customers.
• Relationship Management: Reach out to new clients and keep our existing partners happy.
• Catalog Expansion: Source and evaluate new safety products to keep us ahead of the competition.
• Closing: Proactively follow up on open quotes to secure new contracts.
3. Agile Operations
• Efficiency: Use AI tools to automate workflows and keep us fast on our feet.
• Logistics: Manage order entries and help coordinate shipping timelines across the North.
Qualifications
Who You Are
• Self-Driven: You don’t need a micromanager; you take ownership of your desk and your day.
• A "Tech-Savvy" Learner: You love learning new software and finding better ways to do things.
• Advanced with Data: You are an expert in Microsoft Excel (formulas and templates) and proficient with PDF editors (e.g., Bluebeam).
• Clear Communicator: You can write professional emails and text clients with confidence.
Education & Experience: We value aptitude over degrees. However, a background in Engineering (Degree or EIT), Drafting, Estimating, or Business is a massive asset.
Bonus Points for: * Experience with AI productivity tools or Accounting/ERP software.
• Operational experience (forklift, truck & trailer, or commercial driving).
