Responsibilities
Machine Operation: Set up parameters, start up extruders, string up lines, and perform screen changes.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all products meet tolerances for color, gauge, width, length, and squareness; perform Thermoform testing to meet standard quality requirements.
Technical Tasks: Calibrate and program blenders according to production orders and set deckles, side plates, and beads across the web.
Leadership & Safety: Lead teams during safe tool changes, delegate duties to Quality Control Technicians, and ensure all safety protocols and SOPs are strictly followed.
Maintenance & Logistics: Use overhead cranes and forklifts to move materials and maintain a clean, organized workspace using 5S housekeeping principles.
Troubleshooting: Identify and address equipment failures or process issues, reporting concerns via Improvement Opportunity Reports.
Qualifications
Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mathematical and mechanical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex machinery.
Physical Capability: Must be physically fit and capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
Safety Conscious: Knowledge of GHS (Globally Harmonized System) and dangerous goods regulations.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, analytical problem-solving skills, and a high degree of flexibility.
Experience: Previous experience with overhead cranes, forklifts, or extrusion machinery is highly preferred.
Mindset: Business maturity, integrity, energy, and a desire to continuously improve.
