Responsibilities
Fitting & Assembly: Interpret technical drawings to layout, cut, shape, align, clamp, and tack-weld components (plates, structural parts, subassemblies).
Quality & Dimensional Accuracy: Inspect fit-ups against dimensional tolerances to eliminate non-conformances and minimize rework.
Material & Equipment Operation: Safely operate tools (torches, grinders, presses) and material handling equipment (overhead cranes) to prepare and position materials.
Safety & Workplace Standards: Follow OH&S guidelines, utilize required PPE, maintain continuous hazard awareness, and uphold 5S workplace cleanliness.
Qualifications
Overhead crane certification (or ability to obtain)
Forklift certification (asset)
CWB welding tickets (asset)
3+ years of experience in plate fitting, structural steel fabrication,
or similar Trade certification or apprenticeship in fabrication, welding, or related discipline
High school diploma or equivalent
