• Ensure the building, machinery and services (electricity, steam, water, compressors etc.) conform with and are maintained to legislative requirements
• Act as the first point of contact for all facility and property related requests and issues
• Provide direction to undertake preventive and predictive maintenance. Assign tasks and work orders, both planned and unplanned as required
• Operate every day with a continuous improvement mindset, identifying challenges and problems and finding solutions to improve cost, quality and output • Assist in planning, locating and purchasing of new equipment for plant expansion
• Provide leadership for equipment installation and secure resources to achieve rated speeds and safe operation within specified timelines • Coordinate and oversee maintenance and repair work, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and cleaning services
• Liaise with external vendors, contractors, and suppliers
• Maintain records of maintenance, inspections, and service reports
• Monitor and maintain office supplies, equipment, and furniture
• Assist in planning and executing office moves, seating arrangements, and workspace configurations
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Respond to emergency situations or urgent maintenance issues as they arise
• Support sustainability initiatives and energy-saving projects within the facility
• Assist with budgeting and cost control for facilities-related expenses
• Maintain accurate facility documentation, including floor plans, keys, and access control systems
• Investigate existing systems and procedures and recommend improvements where necessary, resulting in a more efficient and less costly operation
• Compile/maintain operation statistics/reports for the department
• Daily meter readings
Oversight of the following agreements:
o Boiler Inspections / water treatment o Air Conditioning Systems o Landscaping / Snow Removal o Fire Extinguisher Inspection o Security o Sprinkler and fire alarm systems o Corrugate Removal o Waste Disposal o Production Supplies (tape, stretch wrap, paper, etc.)
• Oversee third-party services to ensure timely and proper execution of the actions. Make recommendations for improvement as necessary
• Assist in the solicitation of bids for leasehold improvements as requested (painting, office expansions, new equipment installation, etc.)
• Ensure the Maintenance Department conduct daily boiler blowdown / inspection routine and keep an up to date log book of the activity

• Strong detail-oriented, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
• Ability to manage vendors and coordinate with various departments
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in facilities, office management, or a related role
• Forklift and Scissor-lift certification an asset
• Knowledge of basic building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing)
