Responsibilities
- Assist in safely opening and securing heavy rail car doors and setting up dock plates/ramps for forklift access.
- Ensure bags are stacked neatly and securely on pallets to prevent shifting or damage during transport.
- Working in pairs to rapidly unload bags of seeds and grains.
- Repetitively lift and move bags of seeds and grains weighing between 50 lbs and 100 lbs.
- You will be expected to work at maximum capacity to unload pallets, followed by short rest periods while the forklift clears the area. If you like "interval" style work, this is for you.
- Participate in a "clean sweep" of the docking area at the end of the night to prepare the facility for the next day's operations.
Qualifications
- Ability to maintain a fast work rate for the duration of the task.
- Must be able to lift 100 lbs in teams of two safely.
- You must have your own steel-toed boots. (Safety vest and gloves are also required).
- This is temporary work for those ready to start right away.
- This is a team-based role; your partner relies on you to show up and work hard!
- Prior experience with heavy general labour is an asset.
