Responsibilities
- Financial Operations: Oversee and get involved in day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable/receivable and month-end/year-end close processes.
- SaaS Metrics & Reporting: Track, analyze, and report on key B2B SaaS performance indicators (ARR, CAC, LTV, Churn) and prepare comprehensive financial packages for senior leadership and the Board of Directors.
- FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis): Work closely with our FP&A team on Budget to Actuals.
- Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with standard accounting principles, manage tax filings (including managing SR&ED tax credits, common in Canadian tech), and act as the primary liaison for external auditors.
- Process Improvement: Implement and scale financial systems, controls, and workflows to support the company’s expanding product lines and partnerships with major financial institutions.
Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of progressive finance or accounting experience, preferably with 2+ years in a management capacity within the B2B SaaS, FinTech, or broader technology sector.
- Designation: CPA designation (or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and modern ERP/accounting systems
- Business Acumen: Deep understanding of software revenue recognition and SaaS financial models is preferrable.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
