Responsibilities
•Analyze and document business requirements for finance and accounting systems
•Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather needs and define system enhancements
•Conduct gap analyses and create functional specifications
•Work with Guidewire (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter) and mainframe systems to ensure alignment with business goals
•Evaluate the impact of changes on P&L and balance sheet reporting
•Participate in system testing and validation activities
•Create SQL queries and manage data within Oracle and Postgres environments
•Develop reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and executive stakeholders
•Provide user support and training on new features and systems
•Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues
•Ensure compliance with IFRS17, OSFI, GISA, Facility Association, GAA and other regulatory frameworks
Qualifications
•Minimum 5 years of Business Analyst experience within Finance Systems, preferably in the insurance sector
•Strong knowledge of insurance accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirements
•Hands-on experience with Guidewire and mainframe constructs
•Solid understanding of ETL processes and their role in financial data transformation
•Advanced SQL scripting skills
•Proficient in Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
•Experience with process mapping, writing user stories, data modeling, and maintaining data dictionaries
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•Proven ability to manage projects and collaborate across multiple departments
•Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Computer Science or related field (preferred)
