Responsibilities
In this Financial Analyst role located in Mississauga, you be responsible for:
- Monitor and analyze inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels while minimizing carrying costs and avoiding stockouts.
- Conduct regular inventory reconciliations and variance analysis to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement inventory control policies and procedures.
- Provide insights and recommendations for inventory optimization and reduction of excess or obsolete inventory.
- Analyze product margins, pricing structures, and sales trends to identify opportunities for margin improvement.
- Assess the impact of pricing changes, discounts, and promotions on overall profitability.
- Develop and maintain margin forecasting models to support budgeting and planning processes.
- Work closely with sales and marketing teams to evaluate the profitability of new products and customer segments.
- Analyze manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead, to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency.
- Conduct regular cost variance analysis and provide actionable insights to management.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of standard costing systems and procedures.
- Collaborate with operations teams to identify and implement process improvements that drive cost reductions without compromising quality.
- Prepare regular financial reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key performance metrics and insights related to inventory, margins, and costs.
- Communicate findings and recommendations effectively to various stakeholders, both finance and non-finance, to drive informed decision-making.
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes by providing accurate and timely analysis of inventory, margins, and costs.
Qualifications
This Financial Analyst role located in Mississauga requires the following:
- Minimum College degree or Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Finance. Working towards a professional designation is an asset.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in finance and or accounting as an analyst.
- Experience analyzing inventory, margin, and cost is a must.
- Experience working with Accounting ERP like MS Dynamics is a great asset.
- Experienced working in manufacturing is a great asset.
