Responsibilities
- Lead all core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger operations
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, delivering high-level financial statements, variance analysis, and executive insights
- Demonstrate genuine curiosity for the business to explain operational cost drivers, standard costing, margin fluctuations, and inventory valuation
- Evaluate and optimize workflow processes to build structure, consistency, and daily discipline across all finance functions
- Guide, coach, and support the finance and administrative staff to foster accountability, self-motivation, and professional development
- Serve as the finance lead for modern ERP systems, driving process automation, system upgrades, and reporting tools
- Ensure organizational compliance with ASPE standards, internal controls, and Canadian tax regulations
Qualifications
- Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation is required
- Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment
- Proven expertise in cost accounting, variance analysis, standard costing, and inventory management
- Strong technical capability and comfort with modern software, with experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 or Dynamics NAV considered an asset
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate across departments and translate financial data into actionable business stories
