Shift: Morning Shift 07:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Mon-Fri
Pay Rate: $24.04 per hour

Responsibilities
• Operate motorized and manual equipment, including forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and hand trucks, to move freight safely across the cross-dock area
• Verify shipping documentation against physical freight descriptions, including cargo weight, piece count, and hazardous material classifications
• Plan, organize, and execute proper loading sequences for trailers using securing tools such as load straps and wooden boards
• Perform recouping and repair work on damaged freight packaging whenever necessary
• Adhere to all health and safety policies, including Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) and Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) protocols
• Conduct routine yard checks and complete assigned administrative or reporting tasks accurately
• Assist service centre personnel and customers with freight inquiries, loading support, and paperwork as required
• Maintain clean and organized dock facilities, performing indoor and outdoor housekeeping duties
• Provide guidance and peer mentoring to new freight handler team members during onboarding
• Comply fully with all safety regulations, provincial laws, and organizational policies
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED equivalent (must be able to provide a copy of HS diploma)
• Prior experience operating forklifts, handling freight, or working in a cross-dock or warehouse environment
• Valid forklift operator certificate, or the ability to successfully obtain certification during the probationary period
• Physical capability to bend, twist, squat, and perform heavy lifting (50 lbs), including maneuvering dock plates
• Full awareness of safety signals, machinery backup alarms, and auditory warning devices in a busy dock and yard environment
• Readiness to work on-site in a cross-dock environment exposed to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and machinery fumes
