Responsibilities
As a Forklift Operator in our automotive maintenance facility, you will be responsible for balancing specialized equipment operation with essential warehouse support. Your primary duties include:
Multi-Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate Counterbalance (Propane/Electric), Reach, and Order Picker forklifts to move, stack, and retrieve inventory.
Specialized Material Handling: Perform high-racking operations and handle heavy, oversized automotive components, such as axles, ensuring load stability and safety.
Precision Order Picking: Utilize RF scanners for digital tracking while manually picking smaller items as required to ensure 100% order accuracy.
Manufacturing & Shipping Support: Facilitate smooth production flow by assisting with pick-and-pack tasks, palletizing outgoing orders, and loading/unloading trailers.
Operational Balance: Maintain a productive workload consisting of approximately 80% forklift operation and 20% general labor or warehouse maintenance.
Inventory & Safety: Conduct daily equipment inspections, perform regular cycle counts to ensure inventory integrity, and maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must demonstrate a high level of technical skill and a reliable professional background.
Valid Certifications: Must hold current, valid external licenses for Reach, Counterbalance, and Order Picker forklifts.
Proven Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of experience operating all three machines in a fast-paced warehouse or manufacturing environment.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in high-racking operations and the use of RF scanners for digital inventory tracking.
Industry Knowledge: Previous experience handling automotive parts (specifically heavy or oversized items) is considered a strong asset.
Physical Readiness: Must be comfortable working at heights (up to 30ft) and physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
Reliability & Work Ethic: A solid work ethic with a proven track record of punctuality and consistent attendance is essential for this team.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written English skills for accurate documentation and effective team coordination.
