We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Forklift operator to join our building supplies team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys an early start and wants to be home by late afternoon. You will handle specialized inventory including drywall, insulation, siding, and shingles.
...
Unlike standard warehouse roles, you will be working with oversized and flexible loads. We need someone who understands the "finesse" required to move long materials without damage and the strategy needed to load a flatbed safely.
Advantages
Pay Rate: $21.00 – $23.00 per hour (to start)
Schedule: Monday – Friday Early Start: 7:00 AM
Shift Length: Flexible end times between 3:30 PM and 4:30 PM (8–9 hour shifts)
Responsibilities
Specialized Handling: Load and unload inbound/outbound shipments of drywall, insulation, shingles, and hardwood.
Order Picking: Accurately pull orders from stock using pick sheets or handheld scanners, ensuring materials are undamaged.
Load Securement: Expertly stage and load trucks, ensuring that flexible or "floppy" materials (like siding or long-trim) are supported and secured to prevent transit damage.
Inventory Management: Maintain an organized yard and warehouse; assist in cycle counts and stock replenishment.
Safety Compliance: Operate heavy machinery (forklifts/side-loaders) in accordance with OSHA standards, especially when navigating tight spaces with wide loads.
Qualifications
Certification: Must possess a valid Forklift Certification with a proven track record of safe operation.
Industry Experience: Prior experience handling building materials (drywall, siding, lumber) is highly preferred and considered a major asset.
Transportation: As our facility is not accessible by public transit, candidates must have a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license.
Physical Ability: Comfortable with heavy lifting and working in a dynamic, indoor/outdoor warehouse environment.
