Job Summary:
As a General Labourer, you'll be the backbone of our yard operations, ensuring a safe and efficient workflow. Your primary responsibilities will include:
Loading and unloading trucks with a focus on safety and precision.
Picking and preparing customer orders, ensuring they are securely strapped for transport.
Operating essential equipment like forklifts and chop saws to move and process materials.
Maintaining a clean and organized yard to prevent hazards and promote a safe working environment.
Conducting pre-use inspections on all mobile equipment and tools to ensure they are in safe operating condition.

Responsibilities
- Inspect all equipment prior to using/operating.
- Strapping of material on production carts (use of banding machine)
- Assisting of supplying coils to production
- Putting material in storage racks
- Receiving and marking coils
- Mapping and planning loads
- Organizing trucking shipments
- Counting, paperwork, quality control
- Loading ,unloading material onto trucks.
- Stacking coils
- Housekeeping – Ensure that the yard is kept neat and clean.
- Emptying knock out and garbage bins.
Qualifications
- Dependable, excellent attendance record
- Heavy lifting up to 50lbs
- Understanding of safety policies and their effects on personnel.
- How to use chop saw and steel binding machines.
- Good communication skills with production personnel, order desk, customers, couriers, and truck drivers
- Picking orders and strapping for properly safe loading, ensure strapping is tight so lifts don’t shift or fold.
- WHMIS Training
- Crane Certification
- Knowledge and skill to operate a forklift (certification required)
