Responsibilities
Drive & Transport: Safely operate electric and propane counterbalance forklifts to move materials efficiently between loading docks, storage zones, and processing areas.
Load & Unload: Efficiently handle incoming and outgoing freight, moving materials manually or mechanically from pallets, skids, transport vehicles, and shipping containers.
Secure Freight: Properly position lifting attachments under or around loaded skids and boxes to ensure all products are secure before transit.
Verify & Deliver: Inspect loads for accuracy and transport them safely across the facility to ensure the production line receives materials on time.
Equipment Inspections: Perform daily pre-operational checks on heavy machinery and counterbalance forklifts, promptly reporting any maintenance or mechanical issues.
Maintain Safety: Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and secure while strictly adhering to all occupational safety guidelines.
Qualifications
Experience: 1 to 2 years of proven experience operating industrial trucks, with a strong focus on counterbalance forklifts.
Certification: A valid forklift operator license, or the ability to pass an on-site practical driving test.
Background Check: Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check before starting.
Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent practical warehouse experience.
Commute: Reliable transportation to the Woodstock, Ontario facility to ensure consistent, on-time arrival for the 7:00 am shift.
Precision Driving: Excellent spatial awareness, depth perception, and dexterity to safely navigate tight warehouse aisles.
Safety-Minded: A cautious, dependable, and risk-aware approach to handling heavy or fragile materials.
Collaboration: Strong communication skills to work effectively with dock workers, production teams, and supervisors.
Physical Stamina: The endurance needed to stay active and productive throughout a fast-paced, 8-hour shift.
