This Forklift Operator position in Guelph offers a stable, long-term opportunity within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. Responsibilities
• Operate a forklift safely within an automotive manufacturing environment to move materials and finished goods.
• Supply production lines with necessary components to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing and logistics operations.
• Load and unload trailers using power industrial equipment while maintaining high safety standards.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report any maintenance issues to the supervisor.
• Use RF scanners or manual logs to track inventory movement within the manufacturing and logistics system.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace to prevent accidents and optimize workflow.
• Collaborate with the manufacturing and logistics team to meet daily production and shipping targets.
• Adhere to all Quality Management System (QMS) protocols relevant to the automotive manufacturing industry.
Qualifications
• Proven experience as a Forklift Operator or in a similar manufacturing and logistics capacity.
• Strong spatial awareness and hand-eye coordination for navigating tight aisles in a warehouse.
• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members in a loud automotive manufacturing setting.
• Ability to prioritize safety and follow strict operational procedures.
• Basic computer literacy for inventory tracking and data entry.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high productivity.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Forklift Operator in a warehouse or factory setting.
• Valid Forklift License (either an internal certification from a previous employer or an external certificate).
• Previous experience in automotive manufacturing is highly preferred.
• Experience operating a Reach Truck is considered a strong asset.
• Ability to work 8-hour shifts and remain standing/seated for extended periods.
• Commitment to workplace safety and a clean criminal background check.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic to support a 24/7 manufacturing and logistics operation.
