The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional who can deliver accurate, concise French content within an Agile marketing framework. You will ensure all copy is fully optimized, maintains a consistent brand voice, and adheres to accessibility best practices and SEO tactics to drive traffic and ensure inclusivity for all users.
This is a contract role which requires the talent to work on a hybrid basis, 1 day per week at our client's office in downtown Toronto.

Responsibilities
• Content Editing and Proofreading: Review and edit English-to-French translations for accuracy, consistency, tone, typography, and grammar.
• Translation Coordination: Manage translation requests from external agencies and partners in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Standards Maintenance: Help create and maintain French editorial standards to ensure high-quality, optimized copy across all digital touchpoints.
• Direct Translation: Occasionally translate copy directly while ensuring adherence to French-Canadian nuances and organizational standards.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work within an Agile framework, collaborating with internal teams to champion the French translation discipline and resolve project complexities.
• Digital Optimization: Apply SEO tactics and accessibility best practices to ensure digital content is inclusive and effective.
Qualifications
• Language Proficiency: Native-level French proficiency with extensive knowledge of the French language, supported by a degree in translation or equivalent experience.
• Technical Expertise: Strong working knowledge of translation software (e.g., Trados, MemoQ, Antidote) and terminology databases (e.g., Termium).
• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of Office Québécois de la langue Française (OQLF) standards and French-Canadian linguistic nuances.
• Digital Savviness: Comfortable with evolving technologies and adaptable to new digital tools and trends.
• Detail-Oriented: Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to notice things others might miss to inform decision-making.
• Project Management: Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and consultation skills to effectively partner with vendors and internal stakeholders.
